Ready to Go!

We just love the cute faces this boy makes!

Odd?

We pull into the church parking lot and see this and immediately think what the....? Turns out there are like 4 Oscar Meyer Weiner mobiles in the U.S. and the tour in specific regions and our region driver is from Salt Lake City and decided since he was in town he'd go to our building. Unfortunately there were no freebies.

Sunday Best

Brittney found this lil' vest and pant combo at Burlington for $12 and we couldn't resist. It actually is a premie size (we had to get this small it'd fit him) he sure looks handsome. I tried to match him...he obviously looks better than me. His first visit to church was good and we'll slowly incorperate all meetings as Brittney is more comfortable keeping him out, Flu and RSV season is still pretty big.

Hello Ladies!

We Love our Boy!

I tell ya I never thought you could love someone you barely know and are getting to know more each and every day. Here are some more pics and some of when we actually got him dressed up to go out with us.

A Bum Washing

We thought Caeven might have had an infection on his circumcision so we called the nurse and turns out we're just being worried parents...like with everthing that happens that we don't think is normal, but the nurse did remind us to wash his lil bum with warm water so we did and he liked it quite a bit as you can see from his drunken face.

Pics before the previous post

The last 2 pics here are after he slept 4 hrs or so but as you can see and anyone who's had a kid knows that naps are great in the morning. The first pic is however before we moved upstairs and I was exhausted but at least I got a lil bit of a nap.

The Nights

Hopefully the schedule we've begun to form continues, the last two nights have been great! Caeven ate about 11:30 I think but anywho he sleeps about 4 hours and then Brittney feeds him and he then goes about another 3 hours or so. I had no idea last night that Brittney even woke up to feed him, guess I was too tired myself, but if this be the case then it should be perfect (knock on wood) for when I head back to work next Monday-plenty of sleep for daddy.

Daddy's First Hug

I like to think that Caeven was giving me a hug in this pic, his little arms were on either side of my rib cage just barely making it. He's such a sweet little boy...until he gets hungry or has a bubble of gas or pooh...course we did discover that in his first few days home he can pass gas with the best of them, which is good for us hopefully it'll continue and he won't be too fussy if he has gas or burps.

Snugglin with Grandpa

Brittney's Dad wasn't able to come up with her mom the day of Caeven's birth so needless to say he was pretty happy when he got to see him and snuggle with him.

Holdin' the Binky

Caeven loves to have his hands near his mouth, what baby doesn't right? As a result he's always hanging on to his lil'binky, I was recording this once and as soon as I stopped he pulled his binky out and set it down beside him-if only I was faster! This lower left pic I call the thinker-he totally had his little hand on his chin looking like he was thinkin'bout something.

Just gotta love him!

No surprise that we are doing the "NEW" Parent thing and taking a ton of pictures of our handsome baby boy so hopefully we don't bore anyone with them but we just love this little guy so much.

More Pics of the Baby

Shortly after birth in the nursery, he scored 9/10 on his APGAR Test

This is one of my favorites of Brittney and Caeven, she looks so good as a new mom and just having a baby.

Caeven has arrived!!!

Brittney woke up on Tuesday @ 4 AM in a panic saying, "Chris, my water broke!!!" and I respond with..."are you for real?" as she dashed off to the bathroom and what do ya know it all began to be so real that our son would be here soon. After frantically getting dressed, getting the last minute items into the hospital bag, calling the grandma's, and Brittney changing pants 3 times we were off to the hospital by about 4:25 AM or so. It was definitely one of the longest days being up since 4 and not sleeping til 11 or so. Shortly after we arrived the hooked Britt up to some moniters and 30 minutes or so later we moved to the birthing room that was much bigger and more comfortable. Britt did pretty good with the pain until about 9:30 am when she got the epideral (by which was put in by Bro Davis who was in our first ward the Academy) after that it was all good! Britt was in and out for the rest of the day as I looked at the moniter to see her contractions coming strong and every three minutes. This totally converted me to better living and birth through drugs! Britt stayed in the same position most of the day, we only moved her twice and after going to move her the third time the nurse checked her and said, "oh, there's a head right there" Britt had relaxed so much that her body did just about all the work getting Caevendown the birth canal. The nurse had her push a few times to get things a little closer and then Dr. Ryan arrived and about 10-15 min later Caeven Chase Riggs was born @ 2:52 PM on Tuesday the 12th of February 2008-so he now shares the same birthday as our friend Kamee Godwin and Abe Lincoln. Here are some pictures of our handsome baby boy Caeven Chase Riggs, his birth was definitely one of the most spectacular moments in our lives and we are so happy and blessed to have him here with us, even if he did get here 2 weeks early. Now the fun and family life begins!

Slackin

Okay so we (I've ) been slackin on keepin this thing updated....sorry. We have had an enjoyable last 3 weeks or so with the visit of my sister and her family while they were here enroute to Juno Beach, Fl where my brother in law Jess will be working for Florida Power & Light. It was blast and we were sad to see them leave this past Saturday morning but we'll be heading to FL in late July for a vacation. Brittney is now heading into the 38th week of pregnancy and uncomfortable as ever. We have an appointment this Wednesday so we'll see hoe the progress is coming along, we're both getting very anxious for our baby to arrive. Here are some pic's of late.
